From the Living Room Coffee House (https://thelivingroomcoffeehouse.wordpress.com/):
Mahala is a young, talented singer and budding musician who was drawn to music at an early age and has enjoyed singing in the Elementary, Middle and High school choruses. She is now singing with the stellar, “Cecilia Ensemble,” the all girls high school group of the Grand Monadnock Youth Choir.
Performing songs at local coffee houses, such as Mason, Rindge, and Mount Vernon, Mahala has been building stage confidence singing songs from Adele, BeBe Rexha, 5 Seconds of Summer, and Hillsong. Friends and Family have accompanied her with their voices and instruments in the past, but now she is introducing her own guitar playing. Along with guitar she is learning violin, flute, and saxophone.
The future looks bright for this young lady! She has earned a scholarship from the Cecil Ensemble that will help pay for her spring trip to France. Music sure will take you places, maybe even Berklee school of music.
Doors open at 6:30 pm and all are welcome to sit, relax, meet and mingle. Performers (music, poetry, spoken word) are encouraged to sign up for one of the 15-minute slots. Sign-up is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Performances start at 7:00.
It is our goal to create a wholesome relaxing atmosphere for people to gather, listen and perform music, poetry and the spoken word. Our stage is set for you to perform in front of a supportive audience. A $5 donation is suggested (students may bring 2 cans of food as their donation, to help support the local St Vincent De Paul pantry).
Coffee, tea, water, soda, and juices are available, as well as popcorn and a variety of yummy baked goods from our kitchen. As always, there is no charge for snacks.
