Milford VFW to host a fundraising dinner on Nov. 16 for a local soldier

The following is a press release from the Milford VFW:

The Milford Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4368 announces their plans to hold a Dinner Fund Raiser for one of our local soldiers, Army Captain Shane Morgan to be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, November 16th at the Milford VFW Post, 1 VFW Way, Milford. Captain Morgan, an Afghanistan war combat veteran (2012-2013) suffered a heart attack while on weekend duty in the Army Reserves at Fort Devens. Participating in a required physical fitness test while on duty in November of 2015 at Ft. Devens, Capt. Morgan suffered a heart attack and was rushed to a local hospital where he was treated. Other than the emergency treatment which included the insertion of a stint in his left anterior descending artery that the Army agreed to pay for, all other rehabilitation costs have fallen upon his shoulders to pay. This has left Capt. Morgan and his young Milford family in debt which currently exceeds over $10,000 after his private insurance paid their share.

We believe it is time for all of us to pay our share! We invite the general public to attend this timely and worthy event. Tickets are $ 30.00 per plate and can be purchased at the Milford VFW canteen or by calling or texting Doug Bianchi, Post Quartermaster (858-6200) or Steve Sears, Post Commander (325-3625). You can also make reservations via email at:

Please help us help Captain Morgan and his family in their time of need, won’t you?
