Benefit concert on Saturday at Mason Congregational Church

On Saturday, June 17, internationally known guitarist and composer Hiroya Tsukamoto, award-winning singer/songwriter Jane Fallon, and The Wicked Good Old Boys, a duo of classical flute and guitar, will perform at the Living Room Coffee House in Mason for a fundraiser to benefit the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry in Greenville, NH. The concert begins at 7pm. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children under 11, and free for children under 4.

Hiroya is a one-of-a-kind composer, guitarist, and singer/songwriter originally from Kyoto, Japan, and now living in New York City. He began playing the five-string banjo when he was thirteen, learning from an old bluegrass recording by Earl Scruggs, and took up the guitar a year or so later. In 2000, Hiroya received a scholarship to Berklee College of Music and came to the United States. There, he founded a group of musicians from various continents and made several recordings with the group, in addition to several solo CDs. He performs in the U.S. and internationally more than 100 concerts each year, both solo and accompanied, and has had several appearances at Blue Note in New York City with his group and on Japanese National Television.

His music reflects his love of music from various places and genres, from traditional Japanese folk songs to bluegrass and jazz, as well as his personal warmth and tranquility. Visit Hiroya at: http://hiroyatsukamoto.com/
